Assembly Instructions

1. With the help of a second person, lay both bottom sections (as shown in diagram 1.1 #1) upside down. While doing so, locate the side that has two (2) 3/8inch pre-drilled holes. Align both sets of holes together to allow you to bolt both sections utilizing the two (2) 3/8inch x 4 bolts provided. Tighten both bolts.

Diagram 1.2

2. Place two (2) 1 ½inch tubing sway bars (shown in diagram 1.1 #4) on top of the upside down cart. The sway bars will connect the two bottom sections (shown in diagram 1.1 #1) together using four (4) 3/8inch x 2inch bolts provided. Note the holes have been pre-drilled.

Diagram 1.3

Note:

As shown below, in an earlier version of the double cart design you will need to center the sway bars on the bottom section and drill four (4) 3/8inch holes through the sway bar bracket welded to the bar.

Diagram 1.4

Clamp the two furthest ends and drill through the bottom section of the cart as shown here

Use the hole in the bracket as your template

3. Note that two (2) pairs of caster plates have been installed on the outside if each bottom section. When installing the two single carts together, utilize the interior caster plates. This will decrease the center load when the cart is loaded. The two (2) exterior caster plates are only to be utilized when the Model 3700 Double Cart is assembled in a single cart configuration.

Diagram 1.5

4. The box marked Part #3700 Casters contains four (4) casters, if you have ordered part #3703 Split Cart Option, you have a second box containing two (2) additional casters and a bolt kit marked #3703. Install two (2) ridged casters on one side of the cart and two (2) swivel casters on the opposite side of the cart utilizing the four (4) 3/8inch x 1 bolts provided (there are four (4) bolts per caster).

Diagram 1.6

5. At this point you have completed the most difficult phase of the assembly. With the help of a second person roll the assembled bottom section of the cart over so it is resting on the casters.

Diagram 1.7

6. Locate the package marked uprights a (as shown in diagram 1.1 #3). You will find eight (8) 42inch x 1 ½inch tube uprights with pre-drilled holes. Simply drop the uprights over the welded solid bars provided.

Diagram 1.8

* Note the uprights have six (6) pre-drilled holes at the top which will line up with the pre inchdrilled holes in the solid bar on the top section (as shown in diagram 1.1 #2)

Diagram 1.9

7. Just as you installed the two bottom sections together using the pre-drilled holes provided on the interior side of the part, assemble the top two (2) sections in the same manner. (as shown in diagram 1.1 #2)

Diagram 2.0

With the help of a second person and after confirming that you have both halves lined up, raise and place the solid bar of the top section into the 1 ½inch tubing uprights. Do the same on both sides.

Diagram 2.1

8. On the under side of the two (2) top sections the above mentioned center holes are now lined up. Utilizing two (2) 3/8inch x 4inch bolts provided, bolt and tighten both together.

9. At this point you have some decisions to make. The top section (as shown in diagram 1.1 #2) has the ability to be raised to a variety of heights and then be bolted together. You may adjust the top to any height that will fit your needs.

Note: When adjusting the height of the top section, keep both halves together.

10. Install the four (4) 3/8inch x 4inch bolts provided through the two (2) bottom sections. You will be bolting the 1 ½inch tube together and through the solid bar that has been welded to the bottom frame.

Diagram 2.2

This can be done using any of the holes provided on the top section of the uprights. Before bolting, take into consideration the positioning of your inventory on the cart.

11. Once you have gone around the top half of the cart and tightened all of the bolts, you can move to the bottom half of the cart. You should have installed six (6) bolts total, four (4) 3/8inch x 2inch bolts through the exterior portions of the cart and two (2) 3/8inch x 4inch bolts through the center section of the cart.

Diagram 2.3

Diagram 2.4

The bottom section of the cart has four (4) solid bars welded to it. The uprights have been installed over this solid bar. The uprights have two (2) 3/8inch holes pre-drilled in them. The bottom straps will be installed using these holes.

Install the 46inch straps on the front or wider part of the cart. Install the 36inch straps on the sides or narrower part of the cart.

Use the twelve (12) 3/8inch x 2inch bolts provided to install the straps.

13. Install the two (2) center trays (as shown in diagram 1.1 #6). With the help of a second person, place the tray in the desired position, line the pre-drilled holes up on the 1 ½inch tubing upright, use two(2) 3/8inch x 2inch bolts and two (2) 3/8inch x 4inch bolts to fasten the tray to the uprights.

Diagram 2.5

On the exterior of the cart you will use four (4) 3/8inch x 2inch bolts, two (2) per tray. On the interior of the cart you will use four (4) 3/8inch x 4inch bolts, two (2) per tray.

Installation of Fold Down Door #3709
